What is a capstone module in CPA professional education?
CPA Professional Education Program: Capstone modules. The capstone modules are culminating courses in which you demonstrate what you have learned over the course of the CPA PEP. Both modules are common to all CPA PEP candidates, and are taken after successful completion of the core and elective modules.
What is the capstone integrative module?
The capstone integrative module (Capstone 1) combines individual and group work, supported by written assignments and oral presentations. The use of teamwork enables candidates who chose different electives to experience working together to achieve a complete analysis.
When does the registration period close for a capstone module?
* The registration period closes at 11:59PM Mountain Time. Registrations received after this time are treated as a wait list request. Wait list requests for capstone modules will be accepted until one week prior to the module start date.

It is highly recommended that students take the Capstone 1 and 2 modules immediately leading up to the CFE. For instance, if you are planning to write the September CFE, it is recommended that you take Capstone 1 starting in May and Capstone 2 starting in July.
What happens if I fail core 1 CPA?
Candidates who fail a module examination must wait for a subsequent provincial/regional examination ofering to attempt it again. Candidates in CPA PEP have three attempts to pass a core module, after which they are expelled (de-registered). Candidates can attempt each elective mod- ule up to three times.
What CPA electives should I take?
The Tax and Assurance electives are the “bread and butter” of accounting. If you want to work in public practice (or if you already work in public practice), you should take those two electives; they are required for various licensing requirements.
How much do CPA markers make?
Compensation: Remuneration is based on a fee per case marked (ranges from $10 to $15/case). A rate of $60 per hour is paid for arbitration papers. A flat rate is paid for mandatory preparation and training time.
