When trying to login, I get connected message which appears to proceed properly all the way throught the password and then I get the response: 530 Login incorrect I have added different users, different passwords, differend groups, restarted the server, all with no effect. I am using FileZilla as a client from a pc running xp pro.

Doh! I was cutting and pasting the password into the FileZilla – which I have since discovered it doesn’t permit ( a good security feature in my opinion). I can only assume it must scramble anything that is pasted into the ‘password’ field. When I manually typed the password in, it worked first time!
